The term “retro” derives through the Latin prefix retro, definition “backwards” or “in previous times,” and “Utopia,” the name for a perfect community, taken from the name of a book printed in 1516 by Sir Thomas More, describing a fictional island with a seemingly perfect socio-politico-legal system.
